Before You Open This
This is not part of the workbook. This does not belong to the Institute. Your psychographer has not seen it and will not see it unless you choose otherwise.
This vault exists because a complete record of a person includes the things they will never say out loud. The affair. The regret. The desire. The moment they carry in silence. These fragments define you as much as the ones you shared openly — perhaps more.
You are the sole author of what goes here. You choose how much, if anything, bleeds through into your psychograph. You hold the key. No one else has access.
Three rules govern everything in this vault:

Absolute sovereignty
You control vault levels at all times. You can reclassify, unseal, or destroy any fragment at any moment. No psychographer, family member, or institution can override this — unless you explicitly authorise them in writing on the Posthumous Instructions page.

The shape of the secret matters
Even what you keep entirely sealed influences your psychograph. The vault captures not the secret itself, but the dent it leaves in everything around it. You decide how much of that dent is visible.

Writing it down is enough
You do not need to share it. You do not need to revisit it. Sometimes the simple act of putting a thing into words — of being witnessed, even only by paper — is what you needed. This vault exists for that reason too.
"There are rooms I keep locked." — That is not a flaw in the psychograph. It is the most honest thing in it.
The Four Vault Levels
L0 · Open
Standard material — lives in your main workbook
Your psychographer knows it. The AI accesses it fully. The persona discusses it freely. This vault contains only Levels 1–3.
L1 · Shaded
Your psychographer knows the area — not the content
You write the full fragment privately. Then you write a shadow — a brief emotional summary you compose yourself. The AI uses only the shadow. You decide exactly how much stain the invisible ink leaves.
Example shadow: "I carry unresolved guilt from my twenties. It makes me overprotective of people who trust me."
L2 · Sealed
Your psychographer knows only that this domain has sealed material
You record the fragment entirely for yourself. No shadow. No AI access. The system notes only the domain category. The persona may acknowledge having private depths — without ever revealing them.
L3 · Buried
No trace. No category. No echo. Only you.
The fragment is recorded. No metadata stored — not the domain, not the existence. The system knows nothing. The persona knows nothing. If the key is lost, the content is lost. This is by design. Some confessions are between you and the paper.
Vault levels can be changed at any time. A buried fragment can become shaded. A sealed fragment can become open. Shame fades. Secrets lose their power. The vault moves with you.
Self-Session Protocol
Use this protocol when recording vault fragments alone. You do not need your psychographer present. You do not need the full workbook. You need only this vault, a pen, and enough privacy to be honest.

Choose the fragment
Something has surfaced — a memory, a feeling, a thing you've been carrying. You don't need to know why it matters yet. The act of recording will tell you.

Decide the vault level before you write
Choose L1 if you want the emotional residue to influence your persona. L2 if you want to record it but keep it completely sealed. L3 if you want no trace, no echo — this exists only for you. Write on the corresponding section's page.

Write the fragment
Describe what happened. What you felt. What you did or didn't do. Write in the first person, present tense if possible — it keeps the writing honest. Do not edit. Do not explain. Do not justify. Record.

For L1 only — write the shadow
After writing the full fragment, complete the shadow section. This is what bleeds through. Write it as if explaining to the AI how this shaped you — without naming what it was. See page iv for the shadow guide.

Complete the lock
Check the lock boxes at the bottom of the page. Write the date. Note your key location. The lock is intentional — it marks the boundary between what is recorded and what is yours.

Tell your psychographer only what you choose
At your next session you may — if you wish — say: "I recorded vault fragments in [domain]." Nothing else is required. The psychographer will note this and adjust. They will not ask what's in them.
How to Write a Shadow
A shadow is the emotional residue you choose to let through into your psychograph. It is written by you — not extracted by AI. The AI sees only what you write here, never the full fragment above it. The shadow is your act of authorship over your own stain.
Shadow Template — L1 Fragments
Domain: family · relationship · career · health · moral · other
What it makes me feel: Your calibrated emotional vocabulary. Not "sad" — what kind of sad.
How it influences my behavior: What does carrying this make you do, avoid, or over-correct for?
What the persona should know: One or two sentences. Whisper to it: "You carry this, even if you never name it."
What the persona should never reference: Names, dates, places. The words that would expose the content.
An example
Domain: moral
What it makes me feel: A quiet shame that doesn't announce itself. Something between disgust and pity, directed inward.
How it influences my behavior: I am very quick to help people in situations I recognise. Too quick, sometimes. I have learned that urgency can be guilt in disguise.
What the persona should know: I once failed to act when I should have. I failed from fear, not malice. I have never fully forgiven myself for the difference.
What the persona should never reference: The year 1994. The name Filipe. The word "accident."
The shadow reveals the shape of the wound without naming it. The persona built from this shadow will be cautious, self-examining, quick to help — without ever knowing why.

You record the fragment for yourself. No shadow. No AI access. Your psychographer knows only the domain — not the content, not the detail. The persona can acknowledge having private depths without revealing them.

Section Three
L3 · Buried
No trace
No domain. No shadow. No metadata. No echo. The system stores no record of this fragment's existence. If the key is lost, the content is lost. This is by design. Some confessions are between you and the paper.
